J.J. Abrams isn’t the only one bringing the world of Star Trek back to screens. On Saturday, August 1, Star Trek: Renegades will be premiering in Los Angeles, with a special fan screening prior to the premiere.

Set ten years after Voyager’s return from the Delta Quadrant, Renegades is a television pilot geared for potential online purposes. Directed by Tim Russ, best known as Tuvok in Voyager, the project is independently produced by Skyway Productions and was partially backed via crowdfunding sites Kickstarter and Indiegogo. The screenplay was written by Ethan H. Calk, Jack Trevino, and Sky Conway.

Russ, who also returns to the role of Tuvok in the production, isn’t the only Trek-related name involved in the production. Fans will recognize most of the cast, including Star Trek alums Walter Koenig, Adrienne Wilkinson, Gary Graham, Manu Intiraymi, and Robert Picardo. In addition, the production includes names from other popular franchises: Herbert Jefferson, Jr. (Battlestar Galactica), Edward Furlong (Terminator 2), and Corin Nemec (Stargate SG-1).

If you’re in Los Angeles, tickets to the fan premiere can be guaranteed with a $20 donation to the production. There will be free standby seating as well, but only based on availability. There is also a potential meet and greet afterwards, depending on the stars’ attendance and arrival times.
