About Me

I’m a writer, photographer, performing arts lover, podcaster, and proud fangirl geek.

I freelance occasionally, and have been published in Den of Geek, Stage Directions, LA Weekly, The Mary Sue, UnFictional, and others. I also produce my own podcast, G33K Out with Angie Fiedler Sutton, where I interview geeky people about geeky things. You can see my portfolio here.

I am a proud fangirl geek, whether it’s TV such as The Good Place or Sense8, movies like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, theatre, or podcasts (including my own). I also love to read and play video games. You can see more of my fannish side on my Tumblr.

I have over 20 years of experience volunteering with arts organizations, doing everything from box office to directing. This includes almost ten years with KC Stage, a magazine that covered the performing arts (theatre, dance, music, and independent film) in the Kansas City metro area. I wrote over 100 articles & reviews, and also managed over 100 volunteer contributors, proofread articles, and coordinated publicity/marketing for the organization.

I have a BA in Communication Arts: Journalism (theatre minor) from Park University, and an MA in Specialized Journalism: The Arts from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. In May 2010, I was chosen as a Fellow at the NEA Arts Journalism Institute in Theater and Musical Theater. You can see my resume and work skills over on LinkedIn.
